I work with digital image-making to explore personal and large-scale catastrophes. Coming from Russia, I became attuned to a persistent sense of apocalyptic anxiety, shaped not only by wars but also by technological developments that unsettle what it means to be human. My projects often start with an autobiographical fact, which I connect with ethically and socially charged material sourced through public contributions or appropriated from online platforms. I edit, recontextualise, and bring these fragments into relation, primarily through AI-generative processes, to reflect on how shifting human and technological agency gives rise to new ethical tensions. Although I work with a range of digital techniques, my focus remains on the human presence and emotional triggers embedded within the systems I use. I approach AI as a site where human affect and cognition are actively shaped, and test this hypothesis both in my projects and in writing.

While most of my work takes the form of installations, I am currently developing a series of short films that explore the darker sides of human experience and the unexpected forms of empathy they can open up.
